Mathews Machine and Hydraulic is located in Wichita Falls, Texas. We have been the manufacturer of hydrostatic testing units for over 40 years. Since 1960, more than 200 units have been built for oilfield service across the country. This means that customers can expect Mathews Machine to offer the best equipment available in the industry.

Our proven design gives us the ability to test downhole or on the rack. This allows us the flexibility to meet our customer’s changing needs. We take pride in being able to test downhole or on the rack, above or below the slips, with bar tools or drag tools. Our goal is to meet the customer’s needs quickly and efficiently the first time, every time.

Downhole Testing

We incorporate several key features in our testing units. First, a combination triplex/ram mechanism allows us to initiate pressure with a small pump, and finish with a hydraulic ram using very little stroke. The result is an extremely fast system with minimal wear and tear. Speed and reliability make this design the leader in hydrostatic testing. Next, a custom winch assembly combines downhole speed with the torque necessary to raise the tool to the next stand. Finally, a unique tandem hydraulic pump delivers the required power to each component simultaneously, making this hydrostatic testing unit the most efficient in the industry.

Ergonomics are very important to equipment operators in any field. This design truly puts the operator in the driver’s seat. Controls and gauges are installed inside the cab for comfort and convenience. The front mounted winch and specially designed sunroof allow the operator a perfect view of the wellhead, as well as up in the rig.

Rack Testing

Mathews Machine uses a system of quick connect handles and “man-saver” valves to test pipe quickly and reduce costly downtime. Another noteworthy feature is our specially designed Matpump. This gear pump allows the operator to fill the pipe with water, test to the desired pressure, and then pull the water out of the pipe for use on the next test. We believe that this is the best method for rack testing available.
